Hello

Let me set the scene. It's 2016 in Nashville, TN. It's the first week of January and it's a little girl's birthday. She is graciously gifted a journal, and she thinks it's pretty but doesn't see the use in it since she already has all her school notebooks for the year. However, she decides that she will start writing in it. At first, it's simple "What happened in the day" entries, and then slowly it became "How I felt today" entries. Some months pass and she is still writing as constantly as possible in it, without even realizing it the journal became an escape. It became the little girl's way of coping with her emotions. From friendship problems, to crushes, to family dilemmas. She wrote it all down.

 

Eight years later and that little girl is now an adult, and she has filled five journals worth of experiences and emotions. This little girl is now in college for writing and wants to become an author for children. She dreams of the day that her work reaches other little girls and boys, and hopefully helps them cope with their emotions and situations in life.

This is my story. Writing has always been an escape for me. Even though I wrote strictly about my problems and life experiences, it served as a way to get out of my head. Sometimes when you can't escape a problem in real life, you can escape it with pen and paper. This website is my effort to get my work out into the world, so hopefully it can reach fellow writers (or readers) and give them some writing inspiration or helpful tips. This is quite literally my writing dump (hints the name). I hope you can find my website as a safe haven and place to come when you are feeling stuck as a writer, a student of literature, or even when you just want to read for fun.
